Charles Cullen
Charles was born on February 22 1960. He was born in West Orange, New Jersey and was the youngest of eight children in a deeply religious catholic family. His father was a bus driver, 58 when Charles was born. Charles father died when Charles was an infant.
Charles Described his Childhood as miserable. Charles first attempted suicide at the age of 9, this would be the first of 20 such suicides attempt throughout his life.
On December 6, 1977 Charles mother died in a car accident that his sister was driving. In April 1978,Charles dropped out of high school and enlisted in the U.S Navy and was assigned to the submarine corps. He also served on the USS Woodrow Wilson, an attack submarine armed with Poseidon missiles and he eventually became a petty officer. Charles liked to assist ship's doctor with vaccinations. Charles was transferred to the USS Canopus a supply ship, but he got discharged there because he tried to commit suicide seven times over the next few years. After he was discharged Cullen enrolled in the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing in Glen Ridge.
In 1987, Charles Cullen was married to Adrienne Taub, whom he had two daughters.
